INGREDIENTS
3 pounds MacIntosh or Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1 lemon, juiced
1/4 cup apple juice
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup softened butter
1/2 cup sliced almonds


DIRECTIONS
Toss apples with lemon juice and place in a 9-inch square baking dish. Add apple juice.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles
coarse crumbs. Stir in almonds and sprinkle crumb mixture over the apples.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes, until the apples are tender.
